Olivia Munn, above right, has some big boozy shoes to fill today, as she subs for Kathie Lee Gifford, on St. Patrick’s Day no less. But never fear, Munn is up to the challenge.
“I coined the word ‘DayWasted,” Munn said from the TODAY makeup room where she was getting ready. “And now, it’s not just a term, it’s a lifestyle.”
But Munn’s pre-show concerns aren’t about how it will play when 10 a.m. rolls around, they’re about her co-host.
“I’m concerned about Hoda. She’s definitely drunk already,” Munn said. “Her ability to be happy at everything? And to have this good energy around her all the time? It’s weird. No one’s that nice and that happy and no one laughs that much at my jokes. I think that throughout the hour, we should all just keep an eye on her.”
For her part, Kotb said she’s just as concerned.
“I’m worried, because I read her tweets overnight and I’m scared. Anyone who’s been drinking since Monday to prepare is scary to me. I’m scared of her. Look, she came to play," Kotb said. "I’m excited, I’m scared, it’s going to be fun.”
